Every year, these prestigious colleges jointly get lacs
of applications for admission. Many of us tend to have a vivid and bright
imagination that process of admission is a cakewalk. But, getting admission in
these institutes is not as easy as it sounds. To get admission in any college in
Maharashtra, it is mandate for candidate to appear for the State’s entrance test
i.e. MH-CET. Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (Medical) or simply MH-CET is one
of the premier entrance exams in India. The exam is held every year in the month
of May by the Government of Maharashtra. Directorate of Technical Education is
the apex body that regulates and controls MH-CET (Medical) exam.
Through MHT-CET 2015
(Medical), candidates can get admission to courses like MBBS, Pharmacy, BVSC
& AH and Health Science at Under Graduate level. Medical Entrance for
Maharashtra 2015 will be conducted by DMER for undergraduate medical programmes
in the state.
Eligibility for MHT-CET 2015
MBBS/BDS:-
For MBBS/BDS/BAMS/BUMS/BVSC & AH :-
For MBBS/BDS/BAMS/BUMS/BVSC & AH :-
- The candidate must be an Indian national.
- Candidates seeking admission to Health Science Courses should be residents of the state of Maharashtra.
- The minimum age for candidate is 17 years as on 31st December of the year of admission.
Educational Qualification:-
A Candidate should have passed/appeared HSC/12th Standard or equivalent with subjects of English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology).
A candidate belonging to Open Category must have obtained not less than 50% (i.e. 150 out of 300) marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together at the HSC (or equivalent) Examination. A candidate belonging to constitutional reservation and constitutional reservation with Person with Disability claim must have obtained not less than 40% (i.e. 120 out of 300) marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together at the HSC (or equivalent) Examination.
Person with Disability in General category must secure not less than 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology (PCB) taken together at the HSC (or equivalent) Examination.
For B Sc. Nursing:- A Candidate belonging to Open category must have obtained not less than 45% marks in subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English taken together at HSC (or equivalent) examination. A candidate belonging to constitutional reservation must have obtained not less than 40% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English taken together at HSC(or equivalent) Exam.
MT-CET 2015 Pharmacy
Eligibility:-
Candidate should be an Indian National.
Qualification:- A Candidate Should have passed/appeared the HSC (Std.XII) examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with subjects of English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Mathematics/ Biotechnology/Technical Vocational subject AND Secured minimum 45 % marks (minimum 40 % marks in case of candidates of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability belonging only to Maharashtra State) in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/ Biology/Biotechnology/Technical Vocational subject added together.
Candidate should be an Indian National.

CHANGE IN ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
The Government of Maharashtra through its
official notification DMER/MH-CET-2014/Forms/ Notification No.2/1-A, dated
03/03/2014 has made a change in the eligibility criteria.
According to the
present criteria:
An applicant who has passed SSC or equivalent
examination from an institution situated in the state of Maharashtra is eligible
to apply for MT-CET.
As per the
changed eligibility criteria:
[Exemption for SSC (Std 10. or equivalent
qualification)]
An applicant who has passed SSC or equivalent exam from
an institute outside the state of Maharashtra and HSC or equivalent exam from an
institute within the state of Maharashtra is eligible to apply for admission to
health science courses provided he/she is a domicile of
Maharashtra.
Please note that
this exemption will be applicable only for the academic year
2014-15.
MHT CET Syllabus
MH CET 2015 Syllabus:-The syllabus for MHT-CET 2015 will be same as NEET UG examination. The syllabus includes topics from standard 11th and Standard 12th.
Paper Pattern
MH CET-2015 Pattern:-MH-CET-2015 will consist of one question paper Containing 180 Multiple Choice questions (MCQ), each carrying 4 marks and total marks 720.
Duration:- 3 hours

- Physics - 45 qs - 180 marks
- Chemistry - 45 qs - 180 marks
- Biology - 90 qs - 360 marks
Each question with correct response shall be awarded four marks. There shall be negative marking for wrong responses. For wrong answers there will be deduction of one mark per question. One mark shall be deducted for marking two or more answers of same question, scratching or overwriting.
MHT CET Preparation
The most important thing that candidate should known that MH-CET (Medical) is purely based on Class 12 portion. The exam is not easy but it’s not even hard at the same time. To score high in this exam, candidate should start preparing at least one year before the exam. Joining coaching classes or taking a crash course will be of great help for candidates. Students should keep in constant touch with the portion of Class 12 as the questions asked in MH-CET are based on the theories, laws and its application based on HSC curriculum. Allot equal time to every subject, as this will enable you to cover every topic in detail. Practicing several hours of previous years’ papers will be conducive for aspirants.MHT CET Notification
